Its often said that no matter the truth people see what they want to see. Some people might take a step back and find out they were looking at the same big picture all along. Some people might see that their lives have almost caught up to them. Some people may see what was there all along. And then there are those other people, the ones who run as far as they can so they don’t have to look at themselves. And as for me, I can see clearly now.

You have a good heart. Give it to someone who actually cares.

You do not want to miss tonight’s all-new Desperate Housewives. Who is going to die? Although the choice seems obvious, you never really know what this show has up its sleeves. See you on the other side (after the show’s over, not like dead or something).
Click here for my previous commentary on what’s to come tonight.
Love may fade with the season, but some friendships are year round. Like you and me! You know you love me. XOXO.

Here’s what happened. I love how I went from writing by the minutes to just being like, “Eff this, I’ll comment after the show’s over.”
6:36 pm // Show hasn’t even started, but they’ve already announced some winners and guess what… Beyonce, Taylor Swift, and Lady GaGa have already picked up 2 Grammys each! The 3 main awards are during the show. Stay tuned at 8pm on CBS.
6:41 pm // Beyonce just won 2 more Grammys. This isn’t surprising. So she’s already picked up 4 Grammys and the show hasn’t even started. She now owns 14 Grammy awards. She’s only 28. My Twitter friend Amir said it best when he said “legend.”
Lady GaGa and that green sure was sparkly. Elton John + Lady GaGa + “Speechless” = !!!!!!!. The pink stuff around her eye helped me think of a strawberry. But did anyone else totally think there wasn’t enough green sparkle around the V area? Mad frisky that GaGa. The song “Speechless” has really been growing on me since I heard her sing it live. And this time she sang with Elton John. They looked so cool in the glasses (mission accomplished). Did Lady GaGa mean to take hers off? She looked a little nervous for a second no? Also, I loved the look after she came out with Elton John. She was all charred. Is that the right word? Okay well she went from being almost naked to being covered in sludge. Sludgy. Is that it? Whatever it worked just as well. So in conclusion, Lady GaGa always brings it too.
So it was impossible to do updates during the show. There’s too much to take in. Seriously, why was that over 3 hours long? I’m not really complaining just trying to sound like a regular. Anyway, here’s my thoughts for the rest of the show:
My friend said she was disappointed in Beyonce‘s song choice for the Grammys. I only agree a little bit. Just because she could have done a more outrageous performance, doesn’t mean her performance was bad. I think Beyonce chose a set most people don’t see because it’s music’s big night. Remember when she sang “Dangerously in Love 2″ at the Grammy’s a few years back and the pigeon flew to her? (or away from her? I forget). My point is…everyone always sees the “Sasha Fierce” part of Beyonce all the time. I think Beyonce used the perfect venue to tell the world that there’s more than just smoke and mirrors to her (not that she needs to obviously…you have ears). There are powerhouse vocals beneath it all. In an interview that aired before the Grammy’s, Beyonce said that if she could pick one thing over everything else, it would be “to just stand there and sing.” And she definitely did at least that. After all, “If I Were A Boy” was released right with “Single Ladies.” And we know which single got more attention. This just seems perfectly in keeping with how Beyonce reveals her brand. I approve!
Rihanna really quick. Obviously after everything that happened right before the Grammys last year, keeping it low key was probably a really good choice. I’m glad she finally owns 2 Grammys (with Jay and Kanye for “Run This Town.) Didn’t Rihanna just look so cute and like she was having a great time at the show? I guess you had to see the quick cut-to-celebrity shots to think that. BTW, who was that little munchkin she brought on stage to accept the award? It was actually Beyonce’s nephew (Solange’s son). So cute.
Lots of talk about Taylor Swift’s “rough” performance. Here’s how I see it: if you averaged all of Taylor Swift’s performances, the one at the Grammy’s would probably fall along her average. She definitely has sounded better but it wasn’t like the most painful thing to watch (as some people are saying lol). I just have to comment on the controversy that is her success though. You have people who can’t get enough of the girl and then you have those people who can’t stop asking WHY she has won the accolades she has over the last year (Entertainer of the Year?). I’m a bit on the can’t get enough of her side because I dig the music and I dig her. Although, I’m going to want a little more than just fairytales for the next album/chapter that is Taylor Swift. How do you top an album like Fearless (quality and sales)? Taylor definitely has the potential to show us how.
Michale Jackson dedication was just perfect. I actually didn’t even watch it in 3D because I didn’t have glasses. But it’s recorded and I expect it to be greatness. Michael Jackson’s children were absolutely adorable/heartbreaking. “He wanted to perform last year but couldn’t.” Sigh, I still can’t believe Michael Jackson died. You know who loves Michael Jackson right? Beyonce (she did so many dedications to him on her tour this past year). Also, how effing cute is Beyonce right now in her 3D glasses? Look how excited she is. It’s rumored that she mingled with all kinds of artists that night, even about potential collaborations (how else do you think Beyonce and Lady GaGa happened?) Award shows = networking. Networking in the entertainment industry = magic. Kings of Leon and Beyonce? This could be epic. Oh wait, I mean = epic.
I think Pink really upstaged everyone at the Grammy’s this year. With all the Taylor/Lady/Beyonce chatter, who would have thought that Pink would steal the show? That was some really intense shit up there. That’s okay, you can steal the show too. The next time you’re willing to twirl around and sing on a raised blanket while raining. I just heard it out loud and it’s even more amazing than I thought. Awesome Pink. You don’t get enough credit. Loved ya since the Mizundastood days. Hokai!
Drake. “Forever” is a much better song than “Best I Ever Had.” Can’t stop listening to this since then. “Like a sprained ankle boy I ain’t nothing to play with.” Also, random, but as evidenced by these pictures: don’t you just love to see Jay-Z smiling?
There was more. A lot more. But I’m running out of energy and I’d rather post some more quotes. But here’s my bottom line: everything worked out perfectly for Beyonce, Taylor, and Lady GaGa. Beyonce won 6 (breaking her own record of 5 Grammys won in a night, way to be Beyonce…seriously I am glad she won 6 Grammys because now when I tell people I’ve seen her in concert 11 times, they won’t look at me like…that), Taylor won4 (including album of the year…I think Beyonce was close to this one…and I’ll only accept Lady GaGa for not winning as long as her “Fame Monster” album is nominated next year..seriously that album plus the “monster” tracks is revolutionary lol), and Lady GaGa won 2 (probably should have won more).
That’s all it takes? Me showing you I care? ‘Cuz that’s easy.
