So I just watched the Sex And The City movie yesterday (4th time on DVD, 8th time overall) and realized I have a lot
of things I want to say about it. What is was like seeing it on premiere weekend in NYC, people to blame for Carrie & Big’s rift, and news on the second movie (please, no!).

Premiere Weekend: To say that my sisters and I were excited for this movie to come out is an understatement. My sister Naureen had a SATC party in her apartment in the city where we watched the last two episodes and went off to the movie. There were so many people waiting in line for this movie (all dressed up and everything)…I definitely got some kind of high from being around all this anticipation. The movie was so much fun to watch not only because you were basically with other hardcore SATC fans, but also because everyone reacted during the movie. When something funny happened, the audience filled with laughter (it was a beautiful thing). When Big was an asshole, you heard the gasps. This was the first time in a movie where I didn’t want everyone to STFU! It was great. And then I saw this movie in theaters again with all my other friends.

Who to blame for Carrie and Big’s rift? I’ll tell you who. Fucking Miranda. What kind of asshole tells their best friend’s fiance (who the friend has been dating for ten years) that “marriage ruins everything”??? I understand she had her own man drama going on, but Carrie did not deserve this. If I had to find one more person to blame, it would be Lilly (Charlotte’s daughter). Why? Because Big was trying to call and she hid Carrie’s phone! Okay so maybe the little girl had no idea what was going on…but still. Miranda for sure. What a skank.

SATC Movie Part 2?!? You’re probably shocked that I wouldn’t be happy to hear that all 4 ladies (Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristen Davis, and Cynthia Nixon) have signed on to make another Sex and the City movie… The only reason I am upset about this because I feel like it’s going to suck. It can’t possibly be as great as the first one..I just don’t want it to ruin the show for me. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll get just as excited and crazy for it when it comes out…I’ll just be a little skeptical. I heard that Sarah Jessica Parker wants it to be about Carrie’s sister coming to the city and showing her the “ropes.” If that’s going to be the movie, I’m leaving New York. The movie is scheduled to come out Spring 2010 I believe…We’ll see what happens.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but I see a little bit of myself in all the main 4 characters. I’m free like Carrie, sweet like Charlotte, anal like Miranda, and confident like Samantha. Who are you?
Jennifer Aniston = Still America’s Sweetheart
Remember during the Friends time period everyone was calling Jennifer Aniston “America’s Sweetheart”? Well, I feel like people don’t say that as much anymore, and they definitely should. She just had two #1′s in the box office and she’s just as awesome as ever (if not more). I’ve loved Jennifer Aniston since Friends and love her even more after. I always find myself going to see “the new Jennifer Aniston movie.” I really don’t like that people keep on bringing up Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. It’s over and done with. They have both moved on and they seem to be in good places in their own lives. Can they just move on and not be constantly reminded? But can I just say something….Team Jennifer Aniston all the way (but I love “Brangelina” too!) But if I had to choose.

R.I.P. Natasha Richardson (the mom from Lindsay Lohan’s Parent Trap)
It was confirmed today that Natasha Richardson died after suffering a brain injury from a skiing accident this week. I only know her from one of my favorite movies, The Parent Trap (Lindsay Lohan edition). I thought Natasha was absolutely adorable/beautiful in the movie. It’s unbelievably sad and unexpected news and I wish her and her family the very best. She was only 45 years old. God bless.
My need to write this post came when I realized that a few of my good friends still haven’t seen Slumdog Millionaire… ummm question…What else have you been doing with your life these past few months? Just so you know, the movie will be out of theatres this week. Unless you’re planning on doing something illegal, I highly suggest you go see it soon. Take me with you, even though I’ve seen it three times already! Siblings..Ian…I forget who I was with the third time (ahh don’t get mad at me!)

I loved this movie for many reasons: it made me feel good, it was cute (obsessed with the little kids), it had such a great love story, it had incredible direction, and it had a lot of underlying important themes. The way I felt after this movie…worth more than $10.00. But don’t take my word for it, just wait until it wins Best Picture at the Oscars this weekend (wait, let me rephrase that…it BETTER win).

Just saw Adventureland with a friend and I just want to write this down before I forget. Refreshing and cute movie that’s just fun to watch. Lots of great laughs and good awkward moments. The cast is perfect. Kristen Stewart is just as good as everyone said she was (although she definitely played a similar character in Twilight). Love the main character’s story from beginning to end. Thought I’d hate this movie, ended up loving it. Go check it out for some fun. Oh and it’s better than Superbad in my opinion (since it’s from the same director and all).
It’s 4:20 pm. Let’s go Slumdog Millionaire, Kate Winslet, and WALL-E. These are the movies/people I think should win. The show is on tonight at 8pm on ABC.

Christina Aguilera – Fighter
It only makes sense to put this weekend’s Top Model and Lindsay Lohan story into one. After all, they both involve dumb decisions and someone getting arrested (sort of).
Let’s talk about America’s Next Top Model auditions first. Yesterday, three people were arrested and six were injured while waiting to audition for the show’s 13th cycle in New York. Seriously? Apparently the audition was eventually shut down because it wasn’t “organized properly.” By the way, did you know that next season of America’s Top Model is only going to be people 5’7” and under? Tyra’s trying to spice things up. Speaking of spicy things, I watched this season’s Top Model premiere and there may just be someone I’m rooting for. I have to give Tyra props here. 12 seasons of a show later and she still manages to keep things interesting. We’ll see where things go.
Did you hear about the warrant for Lindsay Lohan‘s arrest? Something to do with violating her probation? There’s lots of stories out there, including [another] fight with her girlfriend. Honestly I don’t even want to talk about it. Lindsay needs to start making better headlines. She went from respectable into the “socialite” category. Time to bring things back. Mean Girls 2.0. You can do it. I haven’t given up. She’s from Long Island after all!
That new Pussycat Dolls/Slumdog Millionaire song and video.
The Pussycat Dolls did their own version of Jai Ho from the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack. Their song is called Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny). I heard it a couple of weeks ago and absolutely thought it was destruction. But after seeing them perform it at the New York Britney Spear’s concert (their first time performing it live ever), I’m starting to come around. The video doesn’t hurt either. Well played. I’ll see how I feel about it a bit later. I also just want to say that they could have potentially killed this song (and I’m sure many people do). At the end of the day I guess it just celebrates Slumdog Millionaire even more so whatever. Enjoy the video below!
