More importantly than Kanye West, the segment of the song that begins at 3:38 gives me chills. So unexpected from this song yet so beautiful. It can make even the biggest unbeliever believe in Beyonce. She’s the best. Also, Kanye did not make this song for me, Beyonce did. The song was great without him too! Enjoy.

One of my favorite Jessica Simpson songs of all time. I’ve seen her perform this song live twice (Allure concert in central park and then it was the opening number of Jessica’s Reality concert tour). One of the greatest feel-good songs ever. Definitely a throwback, but worth it nonetheless. Enjoy. Anyone else want Jessica to go back to her pop vocal days? YES. YES. YES.

I’ve always loved Kelly Rowland‘s solo efforts but this one has got to be my favorite. It’s just so different than what I’ve normally heard from her. It’s definitely a different sound than Destiny’s Child and it’s totally working for her. I’m looking forward to seeing how this song will influence other new songs by her. Work it Kelly.
I really love Jennifer Hudson‘s new single, “If This Isn’t Love.” I can’t stop listening to it. It’s a very sweet and beautiful ballad. And need I comment on the vocals? Amazing. Check it out if you have a chance!

So I’ve gone ahead and added another favorite song to My Faves (top of the page). “Camouflage” by Brandy is seriously like my anthem. It’s just a really great song about being yourself no matter what. I don’t believe in being in relationships where you have to sacrifice your true self in order to be “happy.” The people in your life should accept you for everything you are (and aren’t) and if not, pack your bags and get the hell out of there. Life’s too short to spend your time pretending to be someone you’re not. Don’t hide who you are. You owe it to yourself. You’ll always finds someone who accepts you for just who you are and they wouldn’t want you any other way.

In addition to the amazing lyrics, I’m just obsessed with Brandy’s voice in general. No joke, I think she has one of the best voices in the music industry. And she kills it on this song (especially towards the end). No one belts quite like she does. What a great song. Thanks girl.
Here are two new songs from Drake‘s upcoming album, Thank Me Later. I buy it. Play some Drake. I’m feeling the softer one (typical). Also “new” is relative to you. I still remember when someone told me Rihanna’s “Disturbia” was “new” last summer. Ummmm no, but I still love you.
