Let the games begin :)

When I love my friends most = when they introduce me to amazing things like what’s below. Here’s a version of Beyonce‘s video for “Single Ladies” to a mashup of two pretty Vivaldi songs (who?! lol). Actually just before I saw my friend’s post, I was thinking to myself earlier, “Ummm, isn’t it Spring? Why am I still FREEZING?” Just play.

Contest results tomorrow!

I will post the results of the contest tomorrow and be sending emails then as well. All clicks today will count toward the final tally. Stay tuned and thanks so much for being part of my first contest! :)

whyperezhiltonisheartlessSo I definitely read Perez Hilton almost every day because he talks about some stuff I find newsworthy (and sometimes he’s funny). But for a while now I’ve been noticing how hypocritical he really is. I am mainly referring to his handling of this Rihanna situation. As you may know, there are now naked pictures of Rihanna floating all over the internet. These pictures were further exploited on PerezHilton.com. Didn’t this girl go through enough dealing with a very public domestic violence case? Not to mention having beaten up pictures of her put online as well? My feelings could best be described by a comment on PH.com by PerezPolice. And here it is:

WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU?? Look I understand it’s your job to blog about this type of stuff but how hypocritical is it that you have been blogging for months saying “oh riri get better, we love you blah blah blah” then you turn around and exploit the poor girl even more!?! You have one of the most popular websites in the world and you could have passed over this story and saved her from more humiliation …YOU’RE A DIRT BAG!!!! -PerezPolice

My thoughts exactly. Imagine the millions of people Perez could have prevented from seeing these pictures if he hadn’t posted them. It’s your job to report the news, not exploit celebrities and push them to a point of complete humiliation/breakdown. I just had to speak my mind. Heartless.

How about you use your influence positively (which you definitely are capable of doing) rather than posting pictures of people’s breasts, dicks, asses, and vaginas? Disgusting.

Is if you go late to a movie and I seriously mean that. Who wants to miss the first 15 minutes of a movie, even if it is the previews? I hate when people say “it’s okay.” It’s definitely NOT okay. I’d rather just go home and see the entire movie another time. I hate it when people aren’t punctual (even when it’s me)!
\

\
But my point of writing isn’t to talk about going late to the movies. It’s to talk about the fact that it’s never too late to follow through with your plans. Sometimes I think about things like, “why didn’t I do something sooner?” But more and more I’ve been thinking, “what if I never met these people? What if I never had this opportunity? What if I never did this?” You come to a point in your life when you have to think, “Is this the person I want to be for the rest of my life?” You owe it to yourself to at least try and get everything you want. Do your thing :)

Something has changed within me
\
Something is not the same
\
I’m through with playing by the rules of someone else’s game
\
Too late for second guessing
\
Too late to go back to sleep
\
It’s time to trust my insticts, close my eyes, and leap
\
It’s time to try defying gravity
\
I think I’ll try defying gravity
\
And you can’t pull me down
\

\
I’m through accepting limits cause someone says there so
\
Some things I cannot change
\
But till I try I’ll never know

\
Too long I’ve been afraid of losing love, I guess I’ve lost
\
Well if that’s love, it comes at much too high a cost

To go or not to go…

February 22nd, 2009

I’ve been having trouble deciding whether I should go abroad next semester. I know, what is there to think about right? Well, a lot actually. I want to go because it seems like a once in a lifetime opportunity. When else will I get to spend 4 months in another country without the commitments of family, jobs, etc. But on the other hand, I think about all I would miss as a result of being away. I would miss 1/8 of college and college life. I would miss first half of senior year. Most importantly, I would miss all the amazing people and moments I have experienced in college so far. I would miss a semester of opportunity for new people and new relationships. I’d miss a lot of moments. You know, those really serious moments…the laugh out loud hard moments…the ridiculous moments… I think there is a part of me that would always wonder “what if I had gone to Paris?” But likewise, a part of me would always wonder, what if I had never left Emory? I think I just found my answer.

My thought at the moment. I just love the live versions of some of her songs (Irreplaceable and Me Myself & I are the faves.)

Oh, and LensCrafters can suck it

Just another thing. I went to LensCrafters [to get my glasses] because they had this promotion: a pair of glasses for $99.00. I went to the store and asked which glasses were eligible for the promotion. They pointed me to a wall full of literally the ugliest glasses I have ever seen in my life. A wall of crap. Hideous. I immediately turned away and just spent the money I knew I was going to spend anyway. I hate when good deals aren’t actually good deals. Other than that though, the service was really great. Well done.

Get your minds out of the gutter people. This picture is really funny/cute. Oh, Kobe. Hahahha

Here are the latest stats for my first contest. Because many of you are literally borderline one another, I have decided to give the contest one more week. It would make me feel a lot better if I didn’t have someone not win by 3 clicks. Consider entering because this is the least-competitive contest in the history of the world. Click here for details again. Contest now ends on Friday, March 27.

I only have one class on Tuesday’s and Thursdays this semester. Today I walked to campus (one mile walk at most?) and as I am about to cross the street to go to the business school, I see a girl from one of my classes. I think to myself, “okay she’s just cutting class.” As I cross the street, she tells me class got cancelled… Best news ever.
\

\
A couple of things:
\

\
1) There is nothing better than class being cancelled when you’re tired (and maybe even if you aren’t tired). There’s just no arguing it.
\

\
2) I earned it? I walked to campus damnit.
\

\
3) I went to Whole Foods instead. I totally think that place is like Disneyland for some people. No?

So my blog has basically been a Britney Spears fansite for the past few days…but can you really blame me? I’ll probably have more pictures/things to say after the next two shows, but if you want to keep up with the Britney stuff, it’ll be here on the main page as well as to your top right titled “My Circus Journey.” It’s just easy access to all things Britney/Circus. I’ll be back later!
\

\
P.S. I’ll post the contest update tonight!
\

\
UPDATE: Seeing The Pussycat Dolls and Britney Spears last night felt like a dream.
